Privacy Policy

1. Consent & Data Processing

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2026, Bitroot processes household habits and inventory data only with explicit user consent. You retain the absolute right to withdraw consent and request total data erasure at any time via our Grievance Officer.

2. Data Residency & Sovereignty

All primary personal data is stored securely on servers located within the territorial boundaries of India. We maintain a strict policy against the sale of personal data to third-party advertisers or grocery chains.

3. Local Caching & Synchronization

To support "Offline Resilience," fragments of your kitchen state are stored locally on your device. These are synchronized using our proprietary Safe-Sync mechanism to ensure data integrity across family devices.

Terms of Service

1. Eligibility & Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Chef account. Bitroot does not knowingly collect or process the personal data of minors under DPDP 2026 regulations.

2. Health, Safety & Culinary Disclaimer

You acknowledge that all recipes, flavor profiles, and expiry insights are AI-generated estimates. Jepsons Solutions is not liable for kitchen accidents, allergic reactions, food-borne illnesses, or the consumption of expired goods. Always verify ingredient safety manually.

3. Shared Kitchen Networks

Joining a "Shared Kitchen" network constitutes explicit consent to sync pantry and usage data with authorized members linked via your unique Kitchen Code. Users are responsible for managing their own household access.

4. Intellectual Property

The Bitroot brand, UI/UX, and proprietary source code are the exclusive intellectual property of Jepsons Solutions. Unauthorized decompilation, reverse-engineering of APIs, or reproduction is strictly prohibited.

AI & Third-Party Disclosures

Statutory Labeling (IT Rules 2026)

All recipes and culinary advice are Synthetically Generated Information (SGI). Per IT Rules 2026, content generated by Bitroot is machine-derived. Look for the [SGI] tag across the interface.

Third-Party Data Processors

Advanced features like "Vision Inventory" utilize external cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Gemini APIs) to process receipt images. By using these features, you consent to the passing of non-personally identifiable image data to these sub-processors for sanitization and extraction.

The Hallucination Sanitizer

While we employ a Hallucination Sanitizer layer to minimize errors, AI may occasionally suggest incorrect cooking times or measurements. Users must verify all outputs against professional standards.

Purchases & Jurisdiction

Refund Policy

As Bitroot Pro provides immediate access to digital assets and AI-processing credits, all subscription sales are final. No partial refunds are issued for mid-month cancellations or unused service periods.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of Bitroot shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
