Vegetable Sambar
Ingredients
- • 100 g Toor dal
- • 200 g Mixed vegetables (drumstick, carrot, radish)
- • 20 g Tamarind paste
- • 2 tbsp Sambar powder
- • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
- • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- • 500 ml Water
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook the toor dal with water and turmeric for 3 whistles.

In a pot, boil vegetables with tamarind water, salt, and sambar powder until tender.

Mash the cooked dal and add it to the vegetable mixture.

Heat a small pan, temper mustard seeds in oil, and add to the sambar.

Spiced Coconut Beetroot Poriyal
Ingredients
- • 200 g Beetroot, grated
- • 50 g Freshly grated coconut
- • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
- • 2 Green chilies
- • 1 tbsp Coconut oil
Cooking Steps

Heat coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and urad dal.

Add grated beetroot and green chilies, sauté for 5 minutes.

Add grated coconut and salt, cover and cook for another 3 minutes until tender.
