Puliyodharai (Tamarind Rice)
Ingredients
- • 250 g Sona Masuri Rice
- • 30 ml Tamarind extract
- • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- • 0.5 tsp Mustard seeds
- • 1 tsp Chana dal
- • 0.25 tsp Turmeric powder
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook rice with 500 ml water for 10 minutes.

Heat sesame oil, temper mustard seeds and chana dal.

Add tamarind extract, turmeric, and salt; simmer until thick.

Fold spicy tamarind paste into cooked rice thoroughly.
