Mavinkayi Chitranna (Karnataka Raw Mango Rice)
Ingredients
- • 250 g Sona Masuri rice
- • 100 g Grated raw mango
- • 10 g Mustard seeds
- • 10 g Chana dal
- • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- • 20 ml Peanut oil
- • 1 tsp Salt
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook rice with 500 ml water until fluffy.

Heat oil, temper mustard, dal, and curry leaves.

Sauté grated mango with turmeric and salt until soft.

Fold mango mix into cooked rice thoroughly.

Pasi Paruppu Usili (Steamed Lentil Crumble)
Ingredients
- • 200 g Split yellow moong dal
- • 1 tsp Dried red chili
- • 10 g Ginger
- • 10 ml Coconut oil
- • 1 pinch Asafoetida
- • 1 tsp Salt
Cooking Steps

Soak moong dal for 15 mins and blend coarsely.

Steam the ground dal paste for 8 mins.

Heat oil, add asafoetida and red chilies.

Crumble steamed dal into the pan, stir-fry until dry.
