Mavinakai Chitranna (Raw Mango Rice)
Ingredients
- • 300 g (1.5 cups) Raw rice
- • 150 g (1 medium) Grated raw mango
- • 20 g (1 tbsp) Peanut oil
- • 5 g (1 tsp) Mustard seeds
- • 10 g (2 tsp) Chana dal
- • 1 tsp (1 tsp) Turmeric powder
- • 1 tsp (4 pieces) Green chilies
- • 10 g (10 leaves) Fresh curry leaves
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook 300 g rice with 600 ml water for three whistles.

Spread cooked rice on a wide plate to cool completely.

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add mustard seeds and chana dal; sauté until golden brown.

Add green chilies, curry leaves, and grated mango.

Sauté mango mixture for five minutes until tender.

Mix in turmeric powder and salt.

Fold the mango masala into the cooled rice.
