Mamidikaya Pappu (Andhra Raw Mango Dal)

Ingredients

  • 100 g Toor dal
  • 100 g Raw mango, diced
  • 300 ml Water
  • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 0.5 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 2 pinch Asafoetida
  • 5 g Curry leaves

Cooking Steps

Pressure cook dal, mango, turmeric, chili powder with water for three whistles.

Heat oil, temper mustard seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves in a pan.

Mash dal slightly, add tempering, simmer for 5 minutes, and serve.

Peas Sundal with Coconut

Ingredients

  • 250 g Frozen green peas
  • 50 g Fresh grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp Split urad dal
  • 2 Dried red chilies
  • 5 g Curry leaves

Cooking Steps

Steam peas until tender. Drain water completely.

Heat oil, pop mustard seeds, urad dal, chilies, and curry leaves.

Toss in peas, salt, and grated coconut. Stir-fry for 3 minutes.
