Kootu Curry with Yam and Raw Banana
Ingredients
- • 150 g Elephant foot yam, cubed
- • 150 g Raw banana, cubed
- • 50 g Grated coconut
- • 5 g Cumin seeds
- • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- • 10 ml Coconut oil
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook yam and banana with turmeric and salt for one whistle.

Blend coconut and cumin to a coarse paste.

Add paste to cooked vegetables, simmer for five minutes.

Temper with coconut oil and curry leaves.

Spiced Toor Dal Usili
Ingredients
- • 150 g Toor dal, soaked and coarsely ground
- • 2 Dry red chillies
- • 3 g Mustard seeds
- • 5 g Ginger, minced
- • 10 ml Vegetable oil
Cooking Steps

Steam the coarsely ground lentil paste until firm.

Heat oil, add mustard seeds and dry red chillies.

Crumble steamed lentils into the pan.

Sauté on medium heat until crispy and aromatic.
