Kootu Curry of Yam and Chickpeas
Ingredients
- • 250 g Elephant foot yam
- • 100 g Boiled chickpeas
- • 50 ml Coconut paste
- • 0.5 tsp Cumin powder
- • 0.25 tsp Turmeric powder
- • 1 pinch Asafoetida
Cooking Steps

Pressure cook cubed yam with turmeric and salt until tender.

Add boiled chickpeas and coconut paste to the pot.

Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves in oil.

Ingredients
- • 200 g Paneer cubes
- • 1 tbsp Fennel powder
- • 0.5 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
- • 15 ml Coconut oil
- • 5 g Curry leaves
Cooking Steps

Coat paneer with chili, fennel, and salt.

Heat coconut oil in a pan.

Sear paneer until golden and crispy.
