Kootu Curry of Yam and Chickpeas

Ingredients

  • 250 g Elephant foot yam
  • 100 g Boiled chickpeas
  • 50 ml Coconut paste
  • 0.5 tsp Cumin powder
  • 0.25 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida

Cooking Steps

Pressure cook cubed yam with turmeric and salt until tender.

Add boiled chickpeas and coconut paste to the pot.

Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.

Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves in oil.

Spiced Paneer Varuval

Ingredients

  • 200 g Paneer cubes
  • 1 tbsp Fennel powder
  • 0.5 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 15 ml Coconut oil
  • 5 g Curry leaves

Cooking Steps

Coat paneer with chili, fennel, and salt.

Heat coconut oil in a pan.

Sear paneer until golden and crispy.

Toss with fresh curry leaves before serving.
