Gujarati Khatti Meethi Dal Dhokli

Ingredients

  • 100 g Toor dal
  • 100 g Whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 15 g Jaggery
  • 10 ml Lemon juice
  • 5 g Mustard seeds
  • 5 g Curry leaves
  • 10 g Peanut oil

Cooking Steps

Pressure cook toor dal until soft and blend using a blender until smooth.

Mix wheat flour with turmeric and water to make a firm dough; roll thin and cut into diamond shapes (dhokli).

Heat oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves.

Add the blended dal to the tempering, add jaggery and lemon juice, and simmer.

Add the dhokli pieces into the simmering dal and cook until thickened into a semi-dry consistency.

Peanut and Coconut Stir-fry (Shengdana Sabzi)

Ingredients

  • 150 g Roasted peanuts
  • 50 g Fresh grated coconut
  • 5 g Cumin seeds
  • 10 g Ghee
  • 1 tsp Salt

Cooking Steps

Coarsely grind the roasted peanuts in a blender.

Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds.

Add the ground peanuts and grated coconut to the pan.

Stir-fry on low heat for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and dry.

Season with salt and pack.
