Gujarati Khatti Meethi Dal

Ingredients

  • 150 g Toor dal
  • 20 g Jaggery
  • 5 g Tamarind paste
  • 2 g Mustard seeds
  • 1 g Asafoetida
  • 5 ml Oil

Cooking Steps

Pressure cook dal with water until soft.

In a pot, heat oil, add mustard seeds and asafoetida.

Add cooked dal, jaggery, and tamarind paste.

Simmer for 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Kingfish steaks
  • 30 g Recheado masala paste
  • 10 ml Vinegar
  • 15 g Semolina
  • 15 ml Oil

Cooking Steps

Marinate fish with masala and vinegar for 10 mins.

Coat lightly in semolina.

Pan-fry in oil for 5 minutes per side until crisp.
