Dhungar Aloo Matar

Ingredients

  • 300 g potatoes cubed
  • 150 g green peas
  • 200 ml tomato puree
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 piece hot coal for smoking

Cooking Steps

Heat oil, temper cumin, add potatoes and peas.

Add spices and tomato puree, pressure cook for two whistles.

Place burning coal in a small bowl inside, pour ghee to smoke.

Ingredients

  • 250 g red kidney beans soaked
  • 1 tsp ginger juliennes
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate seed powder
  • 1 tsp black cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp clarified butter

Cooking Steps

Boil beans until soft, drain excess liquid.

Toss beans with ghee, ginger, and all ground spices.
