Dal Palak (Spinach Lentil Stew)

Ingredients

  • 200 g (1 cup) Yellow Moong Dal
  • 300 g (1 bunch) Fresh Spinach
  • 200 g (2 medium) Tomato
  • 100 g (1 medium) Onion
  • 500 ml (2 cups) Water
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Salt

Cooking Steps

Wash and drain the moong dal thoroughly.

Add dal, 500 ml water, and turmeric to the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.

In a blender, puree the spinach, onion, and tomatoes into a smooth paste.

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, then stir in the spinach mixture and cook for 10 minutes.

Combine the cooked dal with the spinach mixture and season with salt, simmering for another 5 minutes.
