Bengali Murgir Jhol (Chicken Curry)

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken pieces
  • 200 g Potatoes, cubed
  • 50 ml Mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 2 Green chilies, slit
  • 100 ml Water

Cooking Steps

Heat mustard oil in the pressure cooker until smoking, fry potatoes until golden, and remove.

In the same oil, add spices, ginger-garlic paste, and sauté for 2 minutes.

Add chicken pieces and sear until opaque.

Add potatoes, water, and salt. Seal the pressure cooker and cook for 2 whistles on medium heat.

Release pressure, stir well, and serve hot.
