Andhra Style Tomato Pappu (Dal)
Ingredients
- • 100 g Toor Dal
- • 200 g Ripe Tomatoes, chopped
- • 2 Green Chilies
- • 0.5 tsp Turmeric powder
- • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- • 1 sprig Curry leaves
- • 5 g Tamarind pulp
Cooking Steps

Wash toor dal and add to pressure cooker with tomatoes, chilies, turmeric, and 300 ml water.

Pressure cook for 3 whistles until soft.

Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds, cumin, and curry leaves for tempering.

Mash the dal mixture, stir in tamarind pulp, add salt, and pour the tempering over the dal.

Spiced Curd Chutney (Thayir Pachadi)
Ingredients
- • 200 g Thick Curd (Yogurt)
- • 100 g Grated Cucumber
- • 0.5 tsp Mustard seeds
- • 0.25 tsp Urad dal
- • 1 dry Red chili
- • 5 g Fresh coriander
Cooking Steps

Whisk the curd in a blender until smooth.

Stir in grated cucumber and salt.

Heat a small pan, temper mustard seeds, urad dal, and red chili in a drop of oil.

Pour tempering over the curd and garnish with coriander.
